Lounge Lizard Session 4 is a software-modeled electric piano synthesizer from Applied Acoustics Systems. It emulates the sound and playing characteristics of classic Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos using physical modeling algorithms. The app is widely used by musicians, producers and composers in recording studios, live performances and DAW-based composition workflows. It features customizable tone controls, built-in effects like chorus and reverb, and MIDI support for keyboard controllers. The synthesizer is available as both a standalone application and as a plugin (AU, VST, AAX) that integrates into major digital audio workstations.

Anyone still running an older Intel-only build under Rosetta should update to the latest version from Applied Acoustics Systems to get the full native performance benefits on M-series Macs. Visit the Applied Acoustics Systems website or use the in-app update checker to download the current Universal Binary. If the plugin version is installed in your DAW, ensure your DAW itself is also updated to native Apple Silicon for optimal stability and performance.
